Join Us and Many Others During a National Day of Action vs. Wells Fargo!
Join Climate First! and many other groups during a National Day of Action on August 15th as we tell Wells Fargo--"Be a Better Bank!"
Organizers created the National Day of Action vs Wells Fargo bank for the following reasons.
First, Wells Fargo is the only major U.S. bank to have dropped its commitment to achieving net-zero climate emissions across its financed portfolio by 2050. And since it is critical that the other major US banks--which are mostly the leading banks in the world as far as investing in fossil fuels--keep abiding by their climate emissions targets, if we are to save the climate, we must publicly make Wells Fargo pay for dropping its emissions targets. For "Details", go below.
In addition, the lender has strongly opposed any unionization of its employees, promoted a plan to privatize the USPS and sell it off in parts, dropped its commitments to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion despite its long history of racist lending practices, is a major funder of companies such as Palantir that partner with ICE to deport immigrants, and finally, is a major funder of companies like Elbit Systems, a major provider of weapons and technologies to the Israeli military, that has led to mass atrocities in Palestine.
