Join the Extinction Rebellion this coming Wednesday, January 26, 2019, in Washington, D.C. for an introduction to nonviolent direct action. During the training, there will be a presentation about the Extinction Rebellion (XR) in general, followed by an introduction to the theory and practical aspects of nonviolent action direct action. While the training will focus mostly on preparation for the XR action scheduled for Saturday, January 26th in D.C., it will also be a good opportunity to meet other people who are concerned about preserving the climate. On Saturday, January 26, 2019, Extinction Rebellion D.C. will join in solidarity with 25 other Extinction Rebellion groups around the country by running a nonviolent direct action.
Activists, including those from Climate First!, will gather in Washington, D.C. on "Rebellion Day 1" to demand that the federal government: 1) stop lying to the American people about climate change; and 2) enact measures that will enable the world to avoid the impending climate catastrophe. PLEASE BE AWARE that some activists will be engaging in civil disobedience, and will likely be arrested in this nonviolent direct action.

Join Climate First! at its 6th Annual Meeting on Sunday afternoon, February 24, 2019 at the Tenleytown Library in NW Washington, D.C. We'll enjoy delicious home-cooked vegetarian food while listening to inspiring speakers. Everyone is encouraged to stay for the Board of Directors meeting beginning about 3 pm.

Where: Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library, 4450 Wisconsin Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. After entering the library, go upstairs to the large meeting room. The Tenleytown-AU Metro stop (Red Line) is across the street from the library.
