Young students around the world are calling on millions of adults to join their global climate strikes on September 20 and again on Sept. 27. With the United Nations hosting a Climate Action Summit in New York starting on September 23, students are calling for immediate action to address the impending climate crisis.
Join Climate First! and Green America as we show our support for the student climate strikes by running a direct action vs. JPMorgan Chase Bank in Washington, DC at noon on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. Our message to Chase Bank--the largest investor in fossil fuels of any bank in the world--is this: "You must start divesting from climate-wrecking fossil fuels immediately."
What: Peaceful direct action vs. JPMorgan Chase Bank.
When: Noon, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. The event will at 1 pm. If you only have 15 min to spare, come by!
Where: Meet outside of Chase Bank, 1401 New York Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. (intersection of NY & 14th St.).
Misc: Closest Metro stations are Metro Center (Red line) and McPherson Square (Or, Blue, Silver). Note: There is no civil disobedience or arrests planned for this event. Also, the event goes forward rain or shine. And bring a sign if you can.
