Join Climate First! and many others on September 17, 2023, as we march in New York City to demand a future free of climate-amplified heatwaves, forest fires, floods, and storms. For details and/or how to RSVP, see "details" below.
Fossil fuels are driving the climate emergency. The U.S.--the top global oil and gas producer and the largest historic emitter--must stop approving fossil fuel development, phase out existing production on federal lands and waters, and declare a climate emergency to accelerate a just transition away from dirty fossil fuels.
Fortunately, activists have an incredible opportunity this year to escalate pressure on our government and others to take action on climate-wrecking fossil fuels. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is convening a Climate Ambition Summit on September 20, 2023, and has urged leaders from governments, business, cities and regions, civil society, and finance to attend with new, tangible, and credible climate actions that will accelerate the pace of change.
