Here's a small victory for the climate! Thanks to the efforts of Climate First! and other Stop The Money Pipeline coalition members, JP Morgan Chase Bank--the largest funder of fossil fuels of any bank in the world--is demoting former Exxon CEO Lee Raymond from his leadership role on its Board of Directors! As reported in the media, this move boosts our campaign to get Chase Bank to move away from dirty energy. 

Now, let's take the next step, and prevent Lee Raymond's re-election to Chase Bank's Board of Directors. Being the chief architect of the global climate denial machine, Mr. Raymond has helped turn Chase into the world's biggest "banker" of climate-wrecking fossil fuels. But with Chase Bank's Annual General Meeting scheduled this coming Tuesday, May 19th, we have an opportunity to pressure the bank's largest shareholders—BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street, the "Big Three" who collectively own nearly 20% of Chase's stock—to vote Mr. Raymond off the bank's Board.

Here's how you can take action today to pressure the "Big Three" to support the climate by voting to #DumpLeeRaymond:

1. Contact them by telephone. We've provided everything, including a script, for you to share your thoughts.   

2. Contact them by email. Again, everything you need is provided.  

With COVID-19 and the economic meltdown, it can be difficult to think about the climate crisis. However, if we continue to work to reduce the climate pollution curve, we may be able to avoid leaping "from the Covid frying pan into the climate fire."
