President Biden and the U.S. Congress recently took major climate action at the scale that the climate crisis demands. However, much more needs to be done if we are to save the climate. Alarmingly, Wall Street banks, such as JPMorgan Chase, continue to give massive funding to fossil fuel interests and projects, while unprecedented climate-driven weather events such as killer heat waves, mega-droughts (often followed by deadly wildfires), and flash floods have racked the U.S. in 2022.
Join Climate First! as part of the 200+ group nationwide coalition, Stop The Money Pipeline (STMP), where we engage in STMP's new "Blame Wall Street" campaign. On September 23, 2022, we will run an action in DT Silver Spring, Maryland that demands that Chase Bank--the #1 investor in fossil fuels of any bank in the world--divest from climate-wrecking fossil fuels, and instead invest massively in clean energy. For details and to RSVP, go below.
We scheduled our action on the same day as the youth-organized "Global Climate Strike" to show support for their world-wide event.
