Immigration Justice Must Be a Climate Fight, Too!

As xenophobia spikes across the US--fueled in large part by a president who has been promoting a crackdown on immigrants and multiculturalism--Stop the Money Pipeline (STMP) and the Florida Immigrant Coalition invite you to join part two of their workshop series: "Immigration Justice Must Be a Climate Fight, Too". See details below.

In part two of the three part workshop, you’ll get an overview of the current national immigration policy landscape, receive “Know Your Rights” training for allies, and learn how to plug into local immigrant and migrant rights networks. This virtual workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 7:00-8:30 pm EDT.

The current immigration suppression is particularly chilling in Florida. “Operation Tidal Wave” — a coordinated effort by federal, state, and local authorities — has already led to over 1,000 arrests. This is a deliberate attempt to instill fear, isolate communities, and tear families apart. But while the MAGA regime tries to intimidate and isolate, pro-immigrant communities and organizations are responding with resilience and solidarity.

Sign up for STMP and the Florida Immigrant Coalition's workshop to learn how you can take action, and be in solidarity with immigrant and migrant communities.

The same communities being criminalized and displaced by immigration crackdowns are often on the frontlines of the climate crisis — working in agriculture and construction, usually without protections. Climate activists cannot build a just and livable future while families are being torn apart and workers are living in fear. Our vision for climate justice includes freedom to move, freedom to stay, and the right to thrive — no matter where we come from.

Climate First! strongly believes that the climate movement must be united in protecting the human right to migration and is committed to ensuring all people have access to a livable planet and the resources to thrive, sustainably, in a changing world. Thus, we will be attending the workshop.
