Recognizing that our health is dependent on flattening the coronavirus curve and the "global warming emissions curve", Climate First! is continuing with its Chase Bank campaign.
Our Chase Bank rallies, originally scheduled at various physical locations in the Washington, D.C. area for this Saturday, March 28th, will now be strictly an online event.
And we know that you want to keep the pressure on Chase Bank, especially since a just-released report tells us that Chase is still the #1 bank investing in fossil fuels of any bank in the world.
Here's a fun idea for this Saturday's virtual action. You can join us in three easy steps:
#1. Make a protest sign. Examples: "Save our health. Chase Bank--stop banking fossil fuels!", or "Climate = Health. Chase Bank, divest fossil fuels!" ).
#2. Take a selfie with your sign.
#3. Post the photo on Facebook and Twitter, using the hashtag "#HealthIsClimateFirst!", and handle "@Chase" to get the bank's attention. Also, put in a "call to action" on your posts. Examples: "Hi Friends, being prepared matters, right? Join me in fighting for climate health: https://www.climatefirst.us/get involved." Or "Hi Friends, these days our health depends on social distancing, eating well, exercising, and also, a healthy climate. Please join me: https://www.climatefirst.us/get involved."
We will compile all the online postings, and share them widely via social media. In addition, our friends at Chase Bank will receive our messages.
NOTE: There is no civil disobedience or arrests planned with these virtual actions.
